"I specifically asked for NO CANNED MUSIC"
I thought as I stood there staring at the back of the room with the rest of the audience.
It was January 1st, 2005, our special day. We are both musicians and my ONE request for my wedding was that we would have ONLY live music. So why, oh why do I hear music coming from the speakers and the band is not playing?
And then it struck me- my bride is singing herself down the aisle! Well, not actually singing, but it turns out that, unbeknownst to me, she had secretly gone to a recording studio and recorded her own rendition of “Feels Like Home”, by Chantal Kreviazuk.
Then, and I’ll never forget this moment, she came through the doorway. That beautiful smile, olive skin, flowing white dress, and a look on her face that said, “I choose you!”
My marriage has always felt like a safe place. No matter our physical location, it is a place with freedom to laugh, cry, adventure, work, relax, learn, create, and love. This is what ‘Home’ feels like to me.
And I want to share that with you!
